Working on Behalf of a Better Life

Corporate Social Responsibility

At Globe Union, we take our responsibilities to people and the environment very seriously. Because of this, we have implemented systems and measures that reflect our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

We monitor the results of our measurements of corporate activities as they relate to the expectations and requirements of society for ethical and beneficial practices.

We implement continuous improvements in our working practices regarding:

  • Environmental Protection
  • Community Involvement
  • Contribution to Society
  • Public Service
  • Public Interest
  • Consumer Interests
  • Human Rights
  • Health and Safety

Social Engagement

Globe Union continuously works toward and implements environmentally friendly practices, and supports and sponsors groups in society. These include the Straits Economic & Cultural Interchange Association, Hope Media Foundation, and Taichung Processing Region Friendship Association.

Respect

We respect the ethical and cultural attitudes of society regarding unacceptable corporate behavior and do not trade with businesses or in countries that do not respect fundamental human values. We believe that respect for each other and the planet are fundamental requirements of working ethically in business today.

Sustainability Reports

To manage this process, we have adopted a Corporate Social Responsibility framework which can be viewed in our Sustainability Reports library. This contains guidance on all aspects of CSR that relate to our business operations. Our CSR framework describes our corporate position regarding:

  • Corporate Governance
  • Fostering a Sustainable Environment
  • Upholding Public Interests
  • Improving Information Disclosure
  • Trustworthiness and Sustainable Development

We strive to create an exceptional working environment by working to our CSR framework. Our intent is that we fulfil our social responsibility aims as we win over the trust of customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and competitors.

Employee Management

We are committed to enable our workforce to be valuable, productive and active members of their communities. Our contribution to this as an employer is to pay appropriate wages for appropriate work, to foster a positive and supportive working environment free of prejudice and stress, and always put the health and safety of our employees first. Our workplace health and safety goals include:

Zero Risk Accident Management Objectives for:

  • Elevators
  • Electrical Hazards
  • Fires
  • Machinery and Equipment

Safe Working Environments

  • Electronic Access and After-Hours Security
  • Labor-Safety Protection
  • Air, Water and Sound Pollution Control

We also encourage our employees to take an active part in recycling and reuse, and energy conservation measures, all of which reduce our environmental footprint.
